Okay, I started at the beginning, Juliia. Wow! So many perspectives and parts of history new to me. The documentary itself was a sumptuous work of art. I don't think I have received so many emotional and psychological impacts in such concentration since reading Sylvia Plath's diaries. Wow! I need to rest awhile...

I figure it's already going to take ten years. But I'll deal with them one at a time as I have time. The ones at the beginning of the thread were some of them only a few minutes. The longer docs will take longer to watch I'm predicting. Very Happy

I weakened and watched beautiful world. We seem to be totally engulfed by art at the moment. Maybe I'm thinking that there is Nature and then there is Human action, which, for better or worse, we call Art. I'll be writing poetry next the way things are going, Julia. Are you art-drugging me? If so, it's like 'wow' man - like 'wow!'

Edit: Damn woman, you read my impatient mind!

That's quite a bit of viewing in here. Shocked study

Mrs Figg wrote:yes Eldo I think there is a strong connection. The Pre-Raphs were based in Oxford and Tolkien would have ben surrounded by their art, he would have been most influenced by William Morris who wanted to live in a more artisan based mediaeval atmosphere far away from the industrial Revolution.

Thanks Mrs Figg, that makes sense. I've heard a bit about the Tolkien-Morris connection in particular. Interesting stuff. Smile

Took your advice and watched this one first; it really is quite remarkable. Nod
