I'm trying to work out the shovel guy. Obviously his left arm is fake and there's some kind of harness and swivel, but I can't completely suss it out.

We don't have a cat, but a 11 year old Dachshund/Jack Russell cross and she certainly has a habit of jumping on the couch (not the beds anymore she can't jump that high anymore-though it doesn't stop her stretching out when she is on them and taking up as much room as possible...), rolling on the floor, running down the stairs etc and scattering hair everywhere, she's thankfully wire haired so it isn't too bad, but dog hairs get everywhere...
