Yesterday was my step-mother's 50th birthday party. My cousin's wife took a ton of pictures including this one of my dad, step-mom, step-brothers, and myself. We were supposed to be making silly faces but my dad was the only one who went all in.

Nice. There's something aristocratic about your step-brother on your right. Must be the long hair and grave demeanour!

Nice. Smile Seems just about everyone here as well was having some sort of pre-christmas celebration yesterday. I had to go to the store, quite late, to pick up a package, and just about every window, there was one going on. Razz

@Forest, that's ... actually not a bad way to describe him. Razz

@Blue, we start to get into the swing of Christmas stuff as soon as Thanksgiving is past (my dad puts up his Christmas-themed train platform on Black Friday every year), but we don't get the live tree until after my step-mom's birthday. Things are definitely kicking into high gear now. I really need to finish all my shopping though. No

@az, thanks! My dad, sister, and I all have very similar blue eyes. Possibly the only thing about my appearance that I've always liked. Laughing

You look like a total badass with that beard, Eldo (#nohomo) - I wish I could grow a proper one, somehow mine turns to shit after five days.

Cheers, Ringo. Smile It takes at least a day and a half after shaving for my stubble to even become visible, but I've been growing out the current beard for just under two months. I wish it was a little fuller but I figure another few years should bring that in. I missed having a beard after shaving it over the summer though so it's been nice to have it back. Razz

Hmm... mine takes about 1 day, so maybe I've got a chance too! I tried growing it on a Troll hunting field trip over three weeks once, turned out OK in some places, rather horrible in others. Perhaps I should try to let it grow out too Very Happy Anyway, keep at it, Eldo - that thing looks badass. A couple of RayBans now and you're exactly where you want to be Very Happy

Once I discovered my beard is salt and red-pepper I lost all interest in a beard. Actually never had interest in a beard due to things likely getting stuck in it, but once I found my beard showed my age more truly than the hair on my head it totally became out of the question.

The older of my two step-brothers. I think he picked up his taste for Colonial era outfits from my step-mom and one of my aunts who are big fans of going to Colonial Williamsburg. Although neither of them dress up for it.

Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Some of the people in my extended family go there at least once a year. I've been a couple times myself, most recently for the "Grand Illumination" (read: really kickass fireworks show) a couple of Decembers ago for my step-mom's birthday. It was really crowded for that, though.

Coming from a woman who fancies The Hound I'm not too surprised. Wasn't sure if your taste in men extended to clothing, though it would take some shine off the guy if he was strapped into a tuxedo.
