Not a fan of Chris Christie at all but my respect for him has increased. What the hell was the GOP thinking when they could have nominated someone like him but went with Mitt instead?

Christie would have turned it down, as he did the VP slot. He won't leave his post until his job is done: one of the people who can give conservatism a good name. Most of the time when there's some media blowup about something he's done or said you can go back and watch it in detail (thanks youtube!) and he comes across as eminently reasonable. A class act.

Every time I feel like American reality TV is the death of culture itself, I just watch some from Japan instead. Suspect

Been watching the news reports on the storm afermath and all seem agreed its done Obama some good, makes him look like he is in control and helping people- if this translates to votes I wonder will Mitt therefore see it as God endorsing Obama?

With Chris Christie, the most universally respected republican in the country, heaping praise on Obama, I think the balance is tipped.

You know sometimes the problem with Americans is it can be hard to
spot when they are taking the piss and when they are for real- take this
for example-

Is she for real? Could somone so stupid be capable of surving everyday life?

that vid................. Shocked i wanna say I respect her opinion.. but she should have made some sort of plan... like, crucial points.. and "he's hot" is not one of them.

well.. now we know what kind of people vote for him, (i do hope she's joking)

omg.. everything she's saying. I am lolling so hard! she's trying so hard to sound intelligent and being smart in politics and all..poor girl.

and if that is they english she uses to present a cause..? I could do it better... starting with no "erm"s and "like"s and omg... just

There's a definite perplexing genius to that video. I tend to sense it's real. Shouldn't this be cross posted in the "America is wacko" thread?
