Again, I will reiterate the point that I'm not one for writing stories. Shrugging

It could be fun to give it a go. But I wouldn't promise the whole thing to be in iambic pentameter, or whatever.

It's a bit far for a trip to the cinema. I don't think I could go on the 23rd even if it was shown here in Norway too like the 50th was. Sad

So far no announcements on Norway, it is sadly bare of tiny TARDISES on the cinema map.

ooh, nice Petty.
I'm not sure if I'll be seeing this new Deep Breath in theaters. It depends mostly on how much the ticket costs. If it's more than a regular shorter film would cost I don't think I'll bother. Best not to encourage extortion!

I have no idea on ticket pricing Forest- doubt I will see it in the cinema either sadly- cost is to much as Id have to travel to get to somewhere showing it.

Would be nice to see Who on the big screen once, but hey ho.

Some lucky folks have already seen Deep Breath at the first of the special screenings- here's a round up of some of the views expressed by members on Gallifrey Base, they are spoiler free, but I've put them in spoiler anyway incase you want to know nothing at all about it-

Spoiler:
'both funny and frightening in equal measure'

'It was superb. Capaldi I expected to be brilliant, and he more than lived up to that, but this is by far the weightiest material Coleman has ever been given, and she completely knocked it out of the park.'

'It definitely felt like everyone raised their game on this one. Jenna was excellent. Capaldi was immense. And Ben Wheatley seemed to have forgotten he was shooting a TV show and just went ahead and made another film. It looks amazing. Definitely go see it in the cinema if you can.'

'All of the acting was spot on - Capaldi knocked it out the park and then some; he may not be everyone's cup of tea but for me he will be a great Doctor. Loved the tone, loved the look and a great balance between standalone storytelling and arc. '

'It really is a fantastic opener, probably the best they've ever done. I echo sentiments about Ben Wheatley, he needs to do more episodes immediately, the whole look and feel of the episode was brilliant.'

'Peter knocked it out the park and Jenna remains as fabulous as she always with - good to see her being given more weighty material.'

'Capaldi stunned me from the moment he was on screen. Absolutely the Doctor. I'm going to love him, I just know it. He's very funny too. Capaldi is wonderful at comedy. Jenna was a real highlight in this.'

And the official spoiler free reviews-

Spoiler:
'Capaldi comes across as quietly broken, and really quite mysterious. He is also, and no bones about this, very Scottish. He's also every bit as good and as interesting as you'd hope.
..the slower (and that's slower, not slow) pace, and Capaldi's rich performance are both very big positives.
Moffat's script calls for some hard acting work from Jenna Coleman....crucially giving her the screen time to do so. She delivers, not in a bombastic way, but quietly and gradually, building up her performance....then there's the injection of unease from director Ben Wheatley....Wheatley proves a strong match for the material, lending Deep Breath a cinematic identity without showing off to do it....Deep Breath may be a slightly quieter introduction for Peter Capaldi in some senses than people are expecting. Yet it's hard to avoid an underlying confidence that all concerned know they're onto something here. And with some flat out brilliant moments in the last third, there's an old fashioned ethos of putting in the foundations, doing the ground work, and building on substance. As such, the big moments really hit....And to everyone involved in the casting of Peter Capaldi? We think we might just owe you a drink or two.'- Den of Geek

'It is a perfectly paced, hugely enjoyable 80 minutes of everything you want from Doctor Who – action, silly jokes and enthralling sci-fi.'- The Independent

'Every line is delivered with tremendous weight and authority. Even when the Doctor is being daft or eccentric (which is often), Capaldi’s performance shows a dignity quite unlike the raw physicality and childlike glee of his predecessor. The extra millennia or so that the Doctor clocked up on Trenzalore seems to become manifest in this incarnation at times, with signs of a weary melancholy and even nostalgia in some of the quieter scenes.
Clever, commanding and at times a little cold, the Twelfth Doctor is unsentimental and pragmatic to a fault.
s a debut for the Twelfth Doctor, it’s laced with meticulously-written moments that give us a sense of who this new incarnation is and how he will interact with the other characters around him. If you’ve resisted the urge to peek at leaked scripts or suffer the rough cut that’s been knocking around torrent sites for the last fortnight, you won’t be disappointed by the wait.'- What Culture

If you are in the UK or browse UK newspapers- avoid the Daily Mirror (you should anyway!) it apparently has a review of the episode that gives away the entire plot and the ending, without offering any critical analysis at all.

Shame on them!!  Evil or Very Mad

Ban them from press screenings Steven. They have abused your trust!

That could be good.
And I see from the casting list that they must be covering his time in Who too, not just his early years, as they are looking to cast someone to play Lis Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith) and Louise Jameson (Leela).

I am green with envy Malick- I'd love to see Who in the cinema but there is just nowhere near enough to be practical.
On the plus side I will be watching with friends and I can be as drunk as I like for it.  drunken

The Observer gives Capaldi the thumbs up in their review-

"Peter Capaldi instantly owns the part that he was born to play but, unlike some of his predecessors, he doesn’t immediately engender fuzzy feelings of cosy comfort. This Doctor is strange and spiky and, for now, remains the mystery that he absolutely ought to be. Epic and unmissable."
