{{This Cabinet Responsibility lark is going well so far!-

'Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson is understood to have backed the plans despite saying it would leave the UK as a "vassal state" and be a "serious inhibitor of free trade", according to BBC political correspondent Nick Eardley.'

'Writing in the Mail, Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen said the "time has come for a new leader" which he believes should be Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg.'

And as to Mogg and his lot, well they've written there own document they are circulating among themselves it

'says the prime minister's plan "would lead directly to a worst-of-all-worlds black hole Brexit".
The 18-page document expresses concern the UK would have to follow EU laws and European Court of Justice rulings and would not be able to develop an "effective international trade policy".'

And on top of that-

'The Observer reports that more than 100 business leaders regard Mrs May's plan as "unworkable" and "costly and bureaucratic".'

'Former conservative Ian Duncan Smith told the Sunday Telegraph said if the public perceive Mrs May's plan as "continued membership" of the customs union and single market for goods, the government "will suffer the consequences at the next election".'

So less than a day old and already pleasing no-one- this is dead on arrival! }}}

lets hope it implodes. backbencher rebellion, leadership challenge, general election, second referendum, and we end up with no brexit and a Labour government, hopefully with Keir Starmer as leader.

I feel sorry for all the TV writers. There's nothing they can do that could compete with this stuff.

The South Park writers did say they gave up on doing Trump jokes during the campaign.  Couldn't keep pace.   "We decided to kind of back off and let them do their comedy and we'll do ours."

{{{ I have to say even I am  a little surprised just how quickly and spectacularly this has blown up in May's face. The only thing saving her right now from a leadership challenge is timing- but then again its the timing issue may force the hard Brexiteeers hand in pushing a challenge sooner rather than later. If so maybe expect to see Boris lead a challenge with Mogg as his unofficial Deputy. Plus Tory's have a history of knifing their own leaders in the back.

And in the middle of all this, you folks have a US Presidential visit to look forward to on Thursday. - David

I am hoping he comes somewhere close enough for me to go- not to protest I want to see if I can get a question in, I figure if I can somehow get myself in amongst the local (not national) press gaggle and just shout out,, 'Petty Tyrant News of the Pure' loud and often enough he won't realise its not a real UK paper. I figure in Trump's mind it must be very hard to know whats reality and whats not anyway, judging by what comes out his mouth at least! }}}}}

It may all be fun, but it is seriously fucking up any chance we had of negotiating anything.

The levels of incompetence with UK governments over the last 15 odd years is just staggering.

And keep your feckless Labour bollocks... they are just a different smelling brand of elephant shit.

the irony is Corbyn is a leaver and May is a remainer, if the Tory brexit fanatics want hard brexit they would be better off with a Labour government.

{{Corbyn isn't just UK-centric Figg, he is almost entirely London-centric. Even Blair post-Iraq had more profile here than Corbyn does- at least people hated Blair after Iraq (and loved him before) but Corbyn- he gets a shrug of the shoulders, Ive never known such indifference in Scotland to a Labour leader. Its because he doesn't care about anything outside of London so why should we care about him.
To give an indication at the last Scottish elections Labour talked up the 'Corbyn effect'- assuming his left-wing policies would appeal to Scotlands old Labour heartlands- the result of the Corbyn effect was they got knocked into 3rd place, by the Tories, in Scotland. Mad
For Corbyn to win he needs England to vote on mass for him, and that's never going to happen, he cant rely on Scottish or I suspect Welsh votes to help him much. }}}

the only way for Labour to win well and not just because the government is so bad anyone is better, is with Keir Starmer as the leader, after the initial honeymoon period after OOOOH JEREMY CORBYN!! it is now clear to me that he is going to betray all those young people and this idol has feet of clay. He means well and is 10000 times better than any Tory, but he is a stick in the mud, stubborn and not at all flexible. worst is his support of brexit, that will ruin it for him.
