never Tyrion please no! No . he is one of the most important characters. Arya, Dany, and Tyrion are essential to keep alive until the end. There no sense of journey without them. I would add Jon and Sansa to that list as well, although I don't know whether they will survive. But you need one person from each kingdom at least to survive.

Bronn is one of the coolest characters too. Sad

There are two Tyrions in the books. Wink  If you remember the person Bronn was bribed with marriage to so he refused to stand for Tyrion in the trial by combat in season four. Well, she was pregnant, through rape, it's not a nice story. And Bronn became his stepfather and decided to call the child Tyrion. Which annoyed Cersei greatly. If Bronn dies, there will be no naming his stepson after Tyrion.

Though perhaps it's as well they left it out. It's certainly not a nice story. No

I always giggle and/or cringe when I hear the line "stick 'em with the pointy end" now, knowing that GRRM intended for Arya and Jon to be romantically linked when he wrote that chapter. No

Not sure how the actors would know when the next book is coming out. Obviously the season will be adapted before it's out, but still.. Meh, not buying that. *enters denial mode*

Actually, I find myself rather uncertain of the future of the show. Because to my mind they've made some really questionable adaptational choices so far. And look to be making more in the future.

To start with season 5, they've ripped the hear out of the Dornish storyline by cutting Arianne. She was what was good about it. Her relationship with Dorran, her fear of the succession, her feeling for Myrcellas situation as the older sibling, but second in the line of sucession because she was a woman. All the emotional deapth of the Dorn storyline was tied up in Arrianne. And they have replaced her with what? The sandsnakes, who never struck me as anything but cardboard cut out villains/heroes, lackng any emotional deapth. And a Trystane Myrcella love story. Jamie showing up seems just a really really bad decision too. He'll show up and accomplish nothing, leaving the status quo and his involvement completely unneccesary. Just like Hardhome last year, and Yaras trip to the Dreadfort. And they complain about lack of screentime while continuing to to add filler like this. It beggars belief. I can only hope it's better than the filler from last season.

And it means we loose Jamies Riverlands arc, which was a perhaps the best part of AFFCs.

Now, we know little of what is happening in the north, but if they have likewise droppeed Wyman Manderly that is another huge mistake to me. The whole The north remembers angle is so tied up in his character. And his scenes with Davos and feasting the northern lords at Winterfell would have made great television.

That's what they are giving up. The moments that might lift the series from good to exeptional. It's like the Tyrion Jamie departure at the end of last season. Yes, it was good. Yes, it had emmotional impact. But the Tysha story was what could have made it an exeptional moving piece of storytelling. It is what makes that moment as shaking and impactful as it is in the books. They even told her story in season 1 and referenced it several times afterwards. And that kind of discarded foreshadowing is a really telling sign of shoddy storytelling.

Now, as for other most likely cut characters I am less sure. The Griffs, Quentyn. They might not be necessary to the story. But I do know that Varys being a Dany supporter makes no sense wth the foreshadowing of Varys and Illyrios master plan they pt into season 1. Again foreshadowing discarded.

Okay, rankt over. Razz  But it does troubble me. And makes me question whether I would want to watch a season 6 that would adapt Winds of winter before it was released. I'm not so sure..

While it's possible that they've heard from GRRM or D&D or some other insider who liaises with the show, it seems pretty clear to me that they're just referring to the story that recently made the rounds on all the entertainment blogs.
